Literature Analysis Questions #1 for "Henry And The Clubhouse" by Beverly Cleary

1. The plot of my novel was a little boy name Henry who delivers the new papers but is always bored and has nothing to do. Henry had a idea to build a clubhouse but if he lacked off on delivering his papers his dad would not let him build one and if  during the process he lacked his dad would destroy it. Everyday before delivering the papers henry and his friends Murph and Robert would work on building it. The three of them decided to make it a no girls zone and only boy zone. Which got Henry friends  Beezus and Ramona mad because they wanted to help but the three boy told them no and that they weren't allowed.

2. The theme in the story "Henry And The Clubhouse" is friendship and always being on time and never lacking off and be on time at all times to deliver the papers.

3. The tone of the story is enthusiastic because the three boys are excited to build the clubhouse. Also frustrated because Ramona would not leave Henry alone to deliver the daily news paper and would follow him in less he had his bike and couldn't keep up with him. Lastly amused because everyone was proud of Henry for building the clubhouse and keeping up with on time delivery.

4. Five literary techniques that are in the story is  when Ramona said "Now I can be a paper boy like you" this is one because this was a mood change for Henry. Another one is when Mr. Capper exclaimed " I see you got your name in the paper" to Henry because none of the other kids delivering got there name in the paper on the editor page. Also when the dad and Mr. Capper tell henry how proud they were of him for being a great person and going out of his way to take the paper to the door when it was snowing and when Ramona got really cold and couldn't go on no more so he let her on the sled and pulled her and continued on. Also how mad Beezus and Ramona was mad for not letting them in the clubhouse they stilled help Henry out of the clubhouse when he got locked in there and no one was around to help him and if he didn't get out he would of been late for the papers so Ramona got Beezus and Beezus went to Henry and Henry told her where the key was and she opened it for him but first Henry had to teach her the secret password. Lastly how when Mr. Bingham teared down the garage they gave Henry the left over wood that they didn't need for clubhouse.
