response to "Young Goodmen Brown"

In this story I found it kinda confusing. I noticed in the beginning the author was always reminding us about the pink ribbon on her hat  I feel like the ribbon had a meaning I think the meaning in this case might represent happiness, joy, and innocent. The purpose of this story I think is to take on the journey and don't back down like him and to always stay together don't seperate in the forest.
